This client was a former co-worker who was launching a site where people could come together to vent about and deal with the stress of their jobs.
This is one of my favorite designs from the pre-responsive, pre-WordPress/Wix days. I create a few versions of the meditating business person logo, but the coffee ring was clearly the favorite (and, yes, that is an actual coffee ring I made, scanned and tweaked a bit). There were also several treatments for the name, but the scratchy scribbles behind the serifed font nicely played on the calm-stress dichotemy. Both the "businessman" and "businesswoman" versions of the logo - shown below - were used, randomly displaying one with each page load.
This also pulled in a lot of live elements so that the homepage was frequently updated: blogs, aricles, forum posts ads and a top ten keyword list. I also wrote several of the initial articles and blog posts for the site to help get things rolling.
